What does Not Quite Normal mean?  Who are your characters?  What is Shady?  Who is Rodney?

If you're new to watching me or if you've been watching me for a long time (first of all, thank you <3), you might have noticed me mention that Not Quite Normal isn't just a name, it's a story.

Whenever I see people draw original characters, I always kind of want to know more about them.  But most of the time, they're just characters that people draw for fun and I can never find any information on them other than just a name.  

WELLL I've always had a website to hold that information and I hadn't updated it for years.  But I just finished re-doing the whole thing!

I just got it and I love it, it's such a fantastic waste of time.  I like stupidly awesome pictures. :D

Yeah, there's pretty much no other point to this journal.

OH, wait there is something else I can say!

I just finished two weeks of working as a Storyboard Revisionist at Bardel! 8D  It was awesome, seeing how storyboards are actually done.  It was a fantastic experience, even if it was only two weeks.  I can't wait to start on animation!

You all need to watch "Planet Sheen" because it's a pretty hilarious show.  I've had a lot of fun working on it so far!

I guess this means I'll have to draw more NQN related stuff!   Which I plan on doing.  I'm also re-doing my website, so that'll be up soon with lots of new NQN stuuuuff.  I'm pretty close to being finished, there are just story and character things that I need to work out.

Also, I got a job!  I'm going to be a 3D animator on Nickelodeon's new show "Planet Sheen"!  I'm working in the studio now, just getting up to speed with Maya for a month, then I officially start in December.  EXCITING.  I've only been practising for a week but I've learned a lot about 3D animation.  It's pretty awesome!

Also, the simpler, the better!  I mean, I can do your character jumping into frame, winking, looking happy, licking the screen, then jumping towards the viewer (omg please don't actually ask me to do that haha) but longer icons makes the filesize huge and the usable icons will be all ugly and pixelly and have very few colours in order to fit under the filesize limit.

You will be getting the full size animation (usually 300x300), as well as a 100x100 (under 40kb for LiveJournal) and 50x50 (under 15kb for DA).

Pbfff, had to get that old journal off my page. XD  So... Update!

I've got three weeks left of school (THREEE WEEEEKS).  Got a lot to do before Grad Show!  So very much.  I'm applying for the third year of 3D animation too.   I hope I get accepted because a certain company by the name of Pixar opened a studio here in Vancouver, so.  I kind of have to learn 3D, haha.

Speaking of 3D animation, go see How To Train Your Dragon!  Seriously, `alohalilo just needs to open his own animation studio or something.


Yeah anyway, school is pretty much taking up all of my time.  Which brings me to the fact that I've gotten several notes asking about commissions and those animated icons so I thought I'd let everyone know that it's still going to be a while until I open for them again.

Heya!   So today was the last day of school for two weeks for the Olympics.  They're using my school as a parking lot/shuttle thing.  So we're not allowed there, haha.

SPEAKING OF THE OLYMPICS, I saw this yesterday: [link]

My camera ran out of batteries right after I took that picture so I couldn't get a shot of the torch right as it went by.  OH WELL, it was neat. :]  It went right by my regular busstop so I figured I'd get up a bit earlier to see it.  Glad I did.  I'm excited to watch the Opening Ceremonies tomorrow!  And then I'm going to try and go to the free ZIP LINE in Downtown Vancouver sometime with some classmates. 8D  IT'LL BE LIKE I'M SPIDERMAN or something.  Best hangtime ever.

And then that's going to be... pretty much it for the Olympics for me. X)  It'll be all workworkwork.  Which means I won't be taking any commissions for animated icons.  Sorry guys!  I really need these two weeks to work on my film.

Which is a lot of animation.  Not doing it in Flash either, so that's going to make it a bit tougher. x)  Yaaayyy TVPaint.  It's so much fun to animate in, but doing the flat colours?  Ugh.

Is anyone here for the Olympics by any chance?  Or are you all just SOO EXCITED TO WATCH THEM?
